Today, I would love to share with y’all 2 things I am SO passionate about: Being a mom and prayer.
Growing up, I always had my mom reminding me to pray. Now that I have two boys of my own, she still keeps reminding me to pray.
When we welcomed our sweet baby boy #2 into our family, our hearts felt like they were going to burst with SO MUCH LOVE for him! On his fourth day of life, when we took him to his first doctor’s appointment he happened to catch a mysterious virus.
Without much information, even until today, we had to rush our sweet tiny little boy to the emergency room. Matt and I were about to face the worst 6 days of our lives.
At the NICU, there were so many nurses, doctors, machines, and questions. As a Mama Bear, I wanted to do anything I could to protect my sweet cub. He had a high fever that didn’t want to go down for 4 days straight. I remember seeing him naked screaming out of his lungs in that cold, cold room. No blanket over him. My instinct as a mama was throwing a blanket on him every time the nurse left the room. She patiently explained to me that he needed to be like that to see if his fever would go down.
On our third night over there, they came to test James all over again. Poking him with needles trying to find a vein big enough in his tiny body. They ended up putting an IV in his head. James was exhausted, in pain, and he couldn’t stop crying. I was at the corner of the room so powerless. I remember rushing to the bathroom and screaming to God to please let me suffer the pain in James’ place. While crying in the bathroom, my mom’s words were echoing in my ears: PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
Well friends, I am so thankful to say that our sweet James left that NICU stronger than ever! The doctor called him “little champ”! One of our favorite nicknames to our JJ that we keep until today. Praise Jesus, our James is the healthiest and smartest baby alive! Our miracle, our joy!
Since this traumatic episode, I have had a strong desire in my heart to create a collection for praying moms! That’s how “PRAYING MAMA COLLECTION” was born. The pieces from this collection are no just shirts, but a reminder to mothers everywhere that through prayer, we can move mountains in our children’s lives!
A praying mama is a warrior, and her prayer can move mountains! As Christian mothers, we have intense conversations with God about our children. We blanket them every night with the protection of our prayers.
I kept asking God over and over how Matt and I could bless mothers out there. How can I impact other women on this amazing motherhood journey without an overwhelming and unrealistic list of perfection and fake filters?
Writing down some ideas I realized the most impact I can have and make on my children’s lives is through PRAYER! We put together these few Bible verses on a card that you can carry anywhere you go!
A wise Mama knows, her power is not on her phone. She knows how to get on her knees and seek the wisdom of God. On this sweet card we put some specific ways you can pray for your child as you declare the Word over their lives!
